Diet Coke and Stroke

Researchers from Miami Miller School of Medicine and Columbia University analyzed data of over 2,500 people and found that daily consumption of diet drinks increases the chances of stroke, heart attack, and vascular disease by 43% compared to drinking regular soft drinks, or drinking diet soft drinks less than once a day.

I'll be the first to admit that I do love sugar, yet replacing sugar with the fake stuff is not the answer either.
Track your sugar consumption and stay within the AHA recommendation for added sugar intake:
< 12 grams of added sugar per day for children
< 24 grams of added sugar per day for women
<36 grams of added sugar per day for men

  1. you'd be so proud - i gave up diet soda for new years. i'm allowing myself one soda a week, but really haven't even wanted any!

  2. My dad just had a heart attack. He drinks probably 5-6 cans of Diet Coke a day. I am not sure if its coincidence. But I know this is not healthy for him!
