This article from Fooducate is AWESOME!!!
I've said it before and I will say it again. Dr. Pepper is the best tasting soda in my opinion. If I want a soda (thanks to my husband and running more) I probably have 8-16 oz of soda per month. I usually make him order one at a restaurant if I have a headache and take a few swigs of his. Rarely do I ever drink a full can (maybe in Lake Powell). I feel like this is a healthy relationship with soda and much better than drinking the diet version everyday.
Short Story:
When I was in 8th grade I made a New Year's Resolution/bet with my dad that we wouldn't drink soda. I won. I also didn't have even one swig of soda for 7 years. This is a true story.

I love this:
Ideally, you’ll switch to water. If not, carbonated water. If not, watered down juice. If not … some form of carbonated beverage without all these chemicals.
If you are giving your kids a Coke, better a coke with calories from sugar than aspartame and acesulfame potassium. Just do it rarely as a treat, not as a daily hydration solution.
How often do you drink soda? Which is your favorite? When did your child first taste soda? Do you buy soda for your home? do you order it when eating out?
Also, if you live in the Salt Lake area you should come try Pilates. Check it out here!
I too thought this article was very interesting and had some great thoughts... I am glad you spotlighted it.
ReplyDeleteyes good info! When i first got married My husband and I wanted to start eating healthier, but we knew we couldn't go cold turkey with everything so we picked two things to work on that first year and they were not drinking soda and eating only whole wheat breads:) I have a swig or two of soda every now and then, and I went a good three years without it completely. it is funny how fast your tastes change.
