Congrats to L.V., Hauppaugue, NY! She followed the Four Week Focus
Total weight loss: 5 lbs
I lost 3/4 inches off my waist, 1/4 inch off my hips, and 1/2 inch of my arms.
My husband also lost 5 lbs. He only ate the dinners that I prepared, and didn't follow the portion guidelines. So kind of annoying that he only did those 2 things and still lost 5, but good for him, right?
Now I feel like I have to confess every single day where I deviated at all from the plan. I followed all the meal plans really well. I exercised 6 days a week for about 45 minutes on average. Some days shorter, some days longer. I like to run. Where I failed is in the "treat category." There were several nights where I had a small treat (like a 100 calorie pack, or a weight watchers ice cream bar) in the evenings. AND there were a couple saturdays/sundays where I totally overdid it on the "small dessert". This has ALWAYS been my weakness. I am a treat-a-holic and once I get some sugar in my mouth, I go crazy.
Overall though, I am happy with the results. I have been learning a lot about healthy eating and we have done an overhaul on our family's diet in the last several months. I am learning things that I never knew about nutrition my whole life. This is the first time that I have really lost weight in a healthy way. Things that I have learned from your plan:
1) Man! I had no idea how many vegetables and fruits I was supposed to eat in a day. I like fruits and veggies, but I have never eaten so many of them every day. Very eye opening, and something I am definitely going to continue doing.
2) I tend to be a grazer, so preparing each meal and sitting down to eat seemed like a lot more work. But I know its a much healthier way to eat. Plus then there is no question about whether I can have one more small X or Y, I just don't eat anything in between and I'm never second guessing myself. Its black and white. And I felt satisfied all day. My weakness is after dinner, and I fear it always will be :)
3) I really liked getting new ideas for healthy meals and snacks. I've never eaten so many shredded carrots and yogurt, but I'll be adding them to a lot more of what I eat now.
